Katie Melua’s ‘the closest thing to crazy’ has always been one of my favourite songs. I thought of it after putting this outfit together. It’s by far the most mishmash-ed outfit I’ve ever created.
I liked Topshop’s recent window display where cycling shorts were paired with a very similar to mine, printed pencil skirt, a clashing top and a pair of high-heeled sandals so I drew my inspiration from it.
After reading so much about the new sporty style and thinking that there’s no way I’m going sporty, I thought cycling shorts and a pencil skirt might as well be as far as I will go. I felt like this ensemble needed a bit more structure and something smarter to bring it all together so I added a very structured vintage blazer and a satchel.
I’ve looked at it over and over again and first I though it’s simply crazy, now I think I like it more and more.
What do you think?

Lovely outfit. The mix of tribal prints and the florals is so SS12. Lets not talk about the yellow blazer because I'm too jealous!
XX Love D.
Love the shirt, skirt and those shoes!
Sometimes a little bit of crazy is good!
