As much as ladylike dresses appeal to me and as much appreciation as I have for them, it’s not really my style. A dress fitted around my waist and my bust AND my arms puts me totally out of my comfort zone. As you can imagine, this here is not my regular outfit.
The dress was actually a very incidental purchase in a charity shop which I didn’t really think I’ll wear more than once. It has generated more compliments than all of my wardrobe all-together the first time I wore it so I decided to keep it for a while. I tone it down with simple heels & a tote for work. I recently wore it with sandals and cat-eye sunglasses to Imelda May and that worked too. I now believe that if dressed down with appropriate accessories, every dress can work for you.
Here, I let it do it’s job in being pretty & fancy and I went all dressy with boxy clutch and satin heels.
